KravDonor at its first exhibition

What we did

On April 17, 18 and 19, 2026, KravDonor participated for the first time in Sofia Zoo Expo — Bulgaria's largest pet exhibition. Three days on our feet, with one booth, one rollup, a stack of flyers, and one mission: to tell people about animal blood donation.

For most visitors, it was the first time they heard that animals have blood types. The first time they learned that their dog or cat could save a life. That's exactly why we were there.

Day 1 — B2B

The first day of the expo was dedicated to the professional audience. In a few conversations with veterinarians, we heard what has been driving us from the start: a well-populated blood donor registry would be a real step forward for veterinary practice in Bulgaria.

But those conversations also showed us a harder reality. Professionals think in numbers — how many registered donors do you have? How many animals have been saved so far? For them, partnerships and sponsorships are measured in results rather than good intentions. And we're just getting started — we have the vision and the platform, but not yet the numbers that convince.

This is an honest observation, not a complaint. We know that trust is built with time and proven results. Every new registered donor brings us closer to the moment when the numbers will speak for themselves.

What we learned

Zoo Expo confirmed something we already knew: most people are not aware of the need for animal blood donation. Some had simply never thought about it. Others assumed a blood bank exists, similar to the one for humans. When they learned that no such system exists, the reaction was almost always the same — interest and a willingness to help.

This reinforced our belief that KravDonor's work is first and foremost educational — and that it's a long-term effort. You don't change awareness with one expo. You do it with persistence, one conversation at a time, one event at a time.

We registered 16 new potential donors with their pets. Each registration is more than a number — it's an owner who for the first time said "yes, I want my pet to be able to save a life".

On the last day of the expo, a breeder with several dozen cats showed interest in the project. This is exactly the type of partnership that could be a game changer for KravDonor — many potentially typed donors from a single source.

We organised a tombola with 15 prizes donated by our partners. Everyone who registered their pet on KravDonor during the expo automatically participated. The draw took place on April 20, 2026.
